Gallbladder Removal - Post-operative Cholecystectomy with Leaking Bile. Dramatically depicts a post-operative complication following cholecystectomy surgery. In an enlarged view of the biliary region and adjacent anatomy beneath the liver, a misplaced clip in the fibrofatty tissue covering the common bile duct causes a tear in the duct itself. In turn, bile flows into the abdominal cavity from the damaged duct causing inflammation of the surrounding tissues and structures.
