This exhibit reveals anterior and side cut-away views detailing blunt trauma injuries to the sternum and thorax typical to car accidents where a loosely restrained driver's chest strikes the steering wheel. Specifically shown is a depressed horizontal fracture to the upper-mid aspect of the sternum bone, shoulder belt contusions, and underlying anatomy of the heart (which can also become injured or contused).
