This medical exhibit accurately depicts the diagnosis of cervical facet joint pain. It features a lateral view of a male head and neck with the cervical spine appearing within the image. A surgeon inserts a diagnostic needle into the C5-C6 facet joint for pain testing. Two additional enlargements, from above and from the side, show a detailed view of the needle and its location in relation to the medial branch of the dorsal ramus of the spinal nerve, the spinal cord and other neural elements.
