Whiplash Injury - C4-5 and C5-6 Disc Protrusions with Spinal Fusion Surgery. Surgical steps: 1. Initial condition prior to surgery revealing cervical disc herniations at C4-5 and C5-6 with impingement of spinal cord elements; 2. Incision into the neck at the C4-5 level; 3. Discectomy (diskectomy) and decompression of the neural elements at C4-5 with preparation for graft material (C5-6 is shown already fused); 4. Placement of bone graft with application of fusion plate and screws.
