Birth Injury - Vacuum Extraction Delivery with Fatal Head Injuries. During labor and delivery, a vacuum extractor device in placed on the head of the ferus in utero. The resulting injuries are displayed from a superior (top) view and sagittal view of the infantís head. The damage includes massive scalp hematoma, swelling and a three inch tear in the coronal suture of the skull with the bleeding brain extruding through the posterior fontanelle.
